IGG held the 2020 Graduate Online Employment Promotion Conference

(Correspondent Qi Yangyang) On March 11th, Institute of Geophysics & Geomatics held the 2020 Graduate Online Employment Promotion Conference through the Tencent Conference to exchange the current employment work progress and discuss and determine further measures. Dean Xiong Xiong, Deputy Secretary Li Zhoubo, heads of various departments (secretaries), graduate counselors, heads of graduating classes, and members of the student graduation committee attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Li Zhoubo.

The students in charge of the undergraduate graduation classes and the heads of the classes reported separately the academic situation and employment progress of the class, and summarized the existing problems and suggestions. Undergraduate graduate counselor Zhang Chuan reported the overall situation of college undergraduates taking the graduate entrance examination in Institute of Geophysics & Geomatics. Postgraduate counselor Qi Yangyang reported on the advancement of graduate employment. Li Zhoubo analyzed the data of institute students’ registrations and submissions of resumes, and reported on the participation of the Institute of Geophysics & Geomatics students in the school's first online spring recruitment, researched and judged the follow-up employment, pointed out the problems and difficulties of college student employment. Requirements for further advancement of employment have been put forward.

The participating teachers and students had intense discussions and exchanges on college employment. The head teacher shared the good experience and practices in promoting the employment of the class. The teachers and students put forward some constructive opinions and suggestions, which has a good guiding significance for the smooth development of the institute's employment work.

Dean Xiong Xiong delivered a concluding speech. He mentioned that the college leaders attach great importance to the employment of students, and have held many discussions on the employment of graduates. The teachers and students of the college must fully recognize the current severe employment situation, guide the adjustment of employment concepts, and stratify the existing problems, promote and develop work plans by category, and mobilize multiple forces to ensure student employment.
