IGG launched Education Program for Postgraduate Freshmen

(Correspondent Zhang Zhen, Li Zhoubo  Photographer Zhang Zhen) On the morning of September 2nd, the Institute of Geophysics & Geomatics launched the 2019 postgraduate freshmen admissions education for graduate students in conference room 222 of the institute’s teaching building. Gu Hanming, Deputy Dean of the Institute, Li Zhoubo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhang Zhen, a graduate secretary, and all graduate students in class 2019 attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Li Zhoubo.

Gu Hanming first introduced the discipline and specialty of the Institute of Geophysics & Geomatics. Combining rich work experience, he put forward relevant suggestions on how to do good academic research and complete the dissertation for graduate students, encourage graduate students to do well in topic selection, carry out divergent thinking and imagination, boldly think and innovate, strengthen academic exchanges, and continuously improve scientific research. He also reminded graduate freshmen to increase their sense of time urgency and prepare early for study and research.

With the theme of postgraduates' ideological and political education and employment situation analysis, Li Zhoubo gave a detailed interpretation of postgraduate party building work, student associations, rules and regulations, and employment situation, and introduced the rewards and funding methods for graduate students. He analyzed the current employment situation of graduate students in the current employment situation, encouraged graduate students to improve their academic innovation ability and comprehensive quality, and laid a foundation for future development.

Zhang Zhen introduced the new stage of graduate students from the aspects of daily management, training management, and three assistant management of graduate students.

Freshmen's admission education activities are designed to help freshmen to understand the requirements for graduate education at the college as soon as possible, so that they can adapt to the changes from undergraduate to graduate learning as soon as possible.
