Prof. Yang Dinghui from Tsinghua University Visited the Forum of IGG

In the afternoon of May 15, at the invitation of Prof. Xiong Xiong of the Institute of Geophysics and Geomatics, Prof. Yang Dinghui of the Department of Mathematical Sciences of Tsinghua University visited our college and gave an academic report entitled "Wave propagation model and reservoir parameter inversion in unconventional oil and gas reservoir media" in the lecture hall of 222 in Wutan building. More than 60 teachers and students attended the lecture.

Prof. Yang focused on the latest research progress of unconventional oil and gas resources exploration that his team made, and introduced a kind of wave propagation model based on non-darcy flow and mathematical and physical models which contain both of non-darcy flow and viscoelastic mechanics. In addition, Prof. Yang discussed the reservoir parameter inversion based on multi-phase flow and multi-physical mechanism model and hybrid genetic algorithm and its practical application.

In the discussion session after the report, Prof. Yang had in-depth exchanges with the teachers and students on the hot issues related to the research of wave propagation model in reservoir media.
